Fall River Shellfish Officer T: 508-207-7730
Massachusetts shellfish regulations are very extensive and can be somewhat confusing. There are many classifications for shellfish growing areas that determine if and when shellfishing is permitted. The current classification of the Fall River waterways is determined by frequent water quality testing done by the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries. The regulations are also specific to species (quahogs, lobster, whelk, conch, etc.)
